Shop:
My shop area occupies about a quarter of my basement, which means the Monarch stays at Dad’s place till I get a bigger building. Not in the photo are the woodworking equipment, the Black Diamond Drill sharpener the Parkerizing tanks, and Blast Cabinet.
Why I got into machining:
I have always been fascinated by Lathes, my father had one which supported his fabrication-shop when I worked there as a child. I purchased the Atlas to support my gunsmithing business and jointly purchased the Monarch partly for my business but also as an excuse to begin working with my Dad again. I get a lot of satisfaction making something myself; especially a tool which I can turn to over and over again, and know that I made it. Besides, it’s fun!
