I am into mostly small lathe and mill projects that include small tools and parts for old woodworking tools.  I am a member of a few other groups and one of them is Old Wood and Metal Machine Operators (OWAMMO's).  I started with this group about two years ago and now help organize two gatherings a year in SW Missouri.  Here is your special invitaion to this Fall's gathering (a pared down version from Dan Wyatt):

Please join us in Hollister / Branson, Mo. on October 22 & 23, 2010 for a big old-fashioned “old wood and metalworking machinery swap meet”, and the associated exhibits, demonstrations, auction and workshop goodies that we have planned around this family oriented event.  The setting for our 8th OWAMMO’s event this fall is nestled on a hill side around a neat old restored railroad depot (please see pics of the area on our web site listed below).  We have had some interest in blacksmithing and model engines over the years so we decided this year to invite several clubs and organizations from these 2 subjects to come have fun with us. We are excited that many new people will be joining us who are akin to our interests. Also remember that the Hollister and Branson areas offer a multitude of wonderful attractions, shopping, excellent restaurants, and things for the spouse and children to experience so please have your family look over the “Branson” link under “EVENT” on our web page.

Our web page http://www.owammos.com is updated almost daily, and registration is now open, so please check it over and register!  The web site features registration, hotel information, scheduling, and other pertinent information regarding the event.  The web site has the most current and pertinent event information available, so please visit it often.

The cost for the gathering will be only $25.00 per person for the two-day event if you register before October 15th, and your Spouse and children (under 18) get in for free! After October 15th the cost of registration will be $30.00, but again, your Spouse and children (under 18) get in for free.

We honor all Disabled Veterans, and for those Disabled Veterans who wish to attend our event we are waving registration costs for you and your immediate family.  We thank you for your service to our Country. Please send me a private email (oldtriumphs<at>hotmail<dot>com) and I will arrange to wave our registration costs.

Thanks ~ Dan Wyatt

Thanks for posting the invitation Dan. If I lived closer I'd definitely come!

Please let me know if this post generates a lot of interest/registrations.

My hope is that as this site grows organizations like yours will be able to get the word out by using this section of the forum, just like you did. So I'm interested with 2.4k members how many are near enough to MO to make it.

NOTE: I work full time and I'm attending college full time as well. So if it takes me a few days to respond, please don't take it personally. If it's urgent please send me a Private Message.

I think you will enjoy it.  I will miss this time because my daughter is getting married, and they think I need to be there.  If the guys from Festus show up you will have a good opportunity to buy good tooling at reasonable $$.  I missed last Fall for back surgery, but I think more model engine guys came than last Spring.  They had neat stuff last Spring.
