Just curious, but why is the total number of forum posts slightly different when you not logged in as compared to when you are logged in?  The total number of posts increases by around 40 posts when you are logged in.

Are you speaking of unread posts? And where are you seeing this number? In the "40 topics with unread posts" sentence that appears in the upper right?

Numbers can fluctuate because some of the forum items are cached to save on page loading time. I'm not sure how long it takes between updates, but I've noticed some discrepancies that resolved within 10-20 minutes in the past.

Tyler,

I'm referring to the "Forum Stats" shown on the bottom of every page.  For example, the "Posts" showed 5624 posts when I was not logged in, but then showed 5668 posts when logged in.

Yep, the footer at the bottom is cached. So it doesn't update every time you load the page. It updates every 10-20 minutes. I noticed that a while back when I added a moderator. It took a long time for the moderator to show up and I kept thinking I had not added him properly.
