Having the EDIT tab would have been handy.Smile

I only have three tabs.

So it looks like the edit tab is an admin-only option. Who knew?

I could try and change it by going into the raw code and making modifications to it, but it's probably safer to leave it as is.

The reason it's not allowed for everyone is because people tend to delete things without thinking about the consequences. That's why I don't like people to link to images stored on Photobucket or Flickr. If they decide down the road to clean out their photobucket or flickr account (or worse, delete their account entirely) all the images that they've linked to will suddenly become broken links.

Broken links are not just annoying for visitors, they also hurt the site's Google rating. The lower the rating the less traffic the site gets from Google (so a high rating is good!).

Anyway, I could delete the picture for you.

What's the name of the image, what's the name of your main image folder (it's probably "Titaniumboy), and what subfolder is the image in? If you haven't already inserted the image somewhere on the forum, I'd be happy to delete it for you. If you have inserted it somewhere, I can still delete it, but you'd need to edit your post to re-insert the image once you've re-uploaded it to the proper folder.

Tyler,

The reasoning behind not allowing the EDIT for function for users seems sound to me.

I accidently uploaded 7 picture files to the Titaniumboy root directory.  Since these 7 picture files are already in the proper subdirectory, you can delete away at will.  I'm trying to leave my root directory empty.

Got it. And you haven't referenced (ie linked to) any of them in your root directory, correct?

Can images be uploaded from a smart phone? I have not been able to find a way to do that.

Thanks,

Fred

Unfortunately, no. You can't upload images from your smart phone. I have an iPhone and that would be a great feature! But no, there isn't a way to make that work without creating a custom iPhone app that links directly to this forum. Or the other option is to ditch this forum software for phpBB or a few other forum packages that already have an iPhone app. But I'd either have to migrate all the posts from this software to the new software (not easy) or start over from scratch. Neither option appeals to me right now as you can probably imagine.

So I wish we could use our smartphones to post, but we can't. Frown

I should clarify, you should be able to post to the forum using your phone, but you won't be able to add images to those posts without using a regular computer.

Tyler, once again this site software has me stumped.  First, I tried to send a private message via the "private message forum" per the instructions on contacting.  No such forum that I could find.

My problems trying to upload a PDF doc.  Your example using a mac is nothing like what I see.  I can upload pictures with no problem but your file open box only allows image type files.  So how do I get around this limitation?

Jim
