I have an ER collet holder and collet set with an MT2 taper that I use in my tail stock on my old Logan lathe. I want to purchase a MT3 collet holder so I can use the collets in my headstock (for milling on my lathe). The only problem I have is that I don't know if my collets are ER25 or ER32. Nowhere on the packaging, receipt or collet does it say. How can I measure to determine what I have. I want to buy a MT3 collet holder with the correct ER# so I don't have to spend more $$ on collets.

Welcome to Projects in Metal. We're always interested in pictures, and it would be great to see pics of your shop and the Logan.

Instead of a new collet holder, what if you used your existing collet holder and a MT3-to-MT2 adapter?

Welcome to the site Andrsn, this chart should help you determine what collets you have.
