OfflineI have a 25mm diameter cog wheel cam with 10 teeth on it, I would like to get a gear rack to match it, and there lies the problem it appears that this is a weird size and that it will cost a lot to make it, any one in the UK help me out ? I have 2 gears one mounted in a mock up and a lose one.this is not a tight fitting gear, the rack can be any material as its for position reference only…or any one tell me the spacing that I need to cut to make my own ( about 6 inches long) or try to !!
I can cover postage and your time.

OfflineI'm sure I can help as my background in gear production years ago, as you may imagine gears are quite a science and just like screwthreads there are various systems. The metric system is module where the the pitch is measured between the center line between 2 teeth. This may be of assiance http://www.metrication.com/eng…..gears.html alternatively it could either be DP (diametric pirtch) or CP (circular pitch) system not sure it they are identical to what is used in the US. Are you looking to buy rather than mill yourself?
This may be a good starting point http://www.davall.co.uk/davall…..gue/racks/
