No Threadind Dial

Just have a little question i have a Grizzly Model G0516 lathe mill combo it dont have a threading dial is there another way to start the threading in the same place, Can i just put one on it, Another thing is my lead screw is coverd by a metal cover.

You can find that at LMS for $29.

Even with out it you can still thread by keeping the half nut engaged and rewinding after each pass.

I want to thank you for that link.

It answered a question I've had for some time.

I have an old south Bend lathe and no thread dial.

I made a dial but could not figure out how many teeth the gear needed for it.

Now I know!
