I built a stand for my Mag drill so I could drill small thin parts. Plus can drill Alum,Stainless,Brass and even

Plastic etc.  Can drill Square Tubing with this. The #3 picture is a Drawling I made as my Idea.   VernonLaugh

Makes me want to drill out the lock on a safe, any safe, just to use a magnetic drill press! On a serious note, I think this is a great idea. I mean, how often do you get to use a magnetic drill press? Probably not very often, but by making a base for it you can use it as a more traditional drill press. Very cool!

Thanks Tyler,

I use the mag drill 90 per. of the time on the stand. Without the stand I would sell the drill.

One of the best things I ever made.

Hey Vernon, I wanted to let you know that your Mag Drill project is scheduled to post to the home page on Sept 10th. There are a few projects ahead of yours, but yours is in cue to post so I thought I'd update you. I included your YouTube video in the writeup. Very nicely done!

I don't have a mag drill, but I have to say that's some great stuff there.  It amazes me how human ingenuity can prevail when faced with a seemingly insurmountable obstecal, like … breaking your back drilling a zillion large holes!  Great idea and it looks like a fine execution.  Cool

I see a Bobcat in that pic, what's your welding inerest?

You can walk with a wooden leg but you can't see with a glass eye. Always use Eye Protection!

Nice Job Vernon, I think maybe a couple of strengthening webs welded to the underside of the table might help, especially if You are going to drill any heavy gauge stuff,Wink neat work though !
