This is a little off topic (OT), but I thought I'd share with you guys what I've been working on for the past few days. And it has a few parts that are machined, so it's not completely OT.

Anyway, we go camping every year with 10 – 15 people and the only thing missing is blended margaritas. Sure we could use a shaker, but what's the fun in that?

Here's my gas-powered 2-stroke margarita maker. It was surprisingly easy and didn't take that long to make. I designed it using a weed wacker motor and a broken blender. I adapted the design so that the weed wacker can be re-assembled. Since this unit will only be used once a year, I figured the rest of the time I'll use the motor for yard work. That way the motor won't quit working from lack of use.

We leave for the camping trip in a few days. When I get back I'll post more video and instructions on how I made it so you guys can make your own.

Cheers!

'See Dear, THAT'S why I need that shiny new lathe… :) I WAS gonna rig it up to your exercise bike, but I thought YOU should have a vacation too… :) [and I didn't waht ya sweatin' in the brew :)]  And hey look, I can still put it back together as a week-wacker so you don't have to edge the lawn with hand clippers… :)   '

And THAT'S why ya need the theraputic effects of the margaritas, to dull the pain when SWMBO hits ya with that baseball bat :)

Very nice, Tyler, but in the best Tim Allen/Home Improvement trdition, isn't it a bit underpowered??? Maybe a spare Chevy 350 V-8????? :):)

       – Don   -better at dodging the ball bats now in my otage w/ #3… :)  cranial stitches incurred with #1… :)

It's funny that you'd mention a v8 blender. Someone has already done that! More than once actually. Can you believe it?

I'm heading out of town early tomorrow for a week (camping, hence the blender) so I will be unable to check and/or reply to the forum. If anyone wonders where I've gone, please let them know.

Thanks!

Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' qabout!!! :)

Have a nice, safe vacation, Ty… and DO NOT let Sasquatch get near the margarita mixer!!! :)

     – Don     In the early 1950's, in rural Alabama, I heard tales of 'Big Red', their version of Sasquatch…
