I CHANGED MY MIND!!  Laugh

I called Matt at PM and changed my order for a PM1127VF lathe instead of the PM1030.

27'' between centers instead of 30'' but and 11'' bed instead of 10'' but a vastly beefier bed and 250pounds more!. It comes with the base, but Matt just told me that the PM1030 also comes with the base now, and a 40 position QCTP with one holder. Variable speed and all hardened metal gears, power crossfeed on both the main and on the transverse.

The total on the invoice, with some rebates comes to a stagering 73$ more!!  Wink

Due mid August. Let's see what next!!

Now your falling in to the same trap as I did, my first lathe was a taig and when I decided to upgrade I planed to get a C4 lathe. No sooner that I became intrigued by it I found a slightly larger and slightly more expensive, then another few until made the final decision, along the way I considered the Busy bee 10", King 10", sieg C8, accusize 12x20 and the Bb 12x36.

What I mean is that sooner or later you will be tempted with something like this.

Nan!

Not yet! fudge!! Yell

it's comming via SBC (Slow Chinese Boat).

Due time is early November….

The mill is ready to ship but we are waiting for the lathe and Matt passed the saving on transport to me.

Nice guy!

A lot of buzz around him from some fed up guys, but I am patient. They'll come!

There is no point in calling Matthews every 5 minutes: ''Is in here yet! is it in? ''

Besides, my shop is not ready yet! Embarassed

blue,

Dang, you've been waiting for awhile and still have at least a couple of weeks before early Christmas arrives.

I'm probably going to order a Grizzly G0704 tomorrow (Wed).  I was seriously considering an RF45 clone, but the size and weight are just a little too much for me at this time.  Glowing reviews by ironring, jeremy, and origin on this forum as well as by Hossmachine have also been taken into account.  An RF45 (or even better a Bridgeport knee mill !!) is going to have to wait until we move and have room for a dedicated shop.

Sounds like the next batch of G0704 won't be arriving off the boat until December 2 according to Grizzly, and then they need another 3-5 days for the mill to be delivered to the customer.

If possible avoid Fast Freight, they had made the mistake of sending my lathe to Alberta from the Kingston distribution center.  Added another two months to the travel time then had the audacity to ask me to pay for the 7000 mile trip.

Luc,

Is it here yet?

I received my Grizzly G0704 mill a couple of weeks ago, but am still in the process of cleaning and commissioning.
