The gear cutter's tooth is drill rod shaped with a dremel tool then heat treated. I don't know the size I just copied the space between the teeth of a gear I was going to copy. By grinding it with the dremel cut off wheel.

Hi Tenn

I too have made my own fly cutter, the holder was mild steel, i used an old MT 2 taper from an old drill, the cutter is a left handed brazed carbide tipped lathe tool & it worked well when I last used it.Hope the photo appears ok.
