I've been looking for one of these for a while now, but I haven't found one in my area (the Northwest USA). I found one in NY on eBay, but shipping would be prohibitive.

So if anyone has one of these that they'd like to get rid of, I'd be willing to pay a fair price for it if it's in good condition.

Must you buy an atlas base, could you not buy a Chinese machine base.

You make a good point. But since I've gone through all the effort to restore the atlas, I'd like to get a matching base. Otherwise, no – I'd be fine with a knockoff. I should have clarified. Just out of curiosity, how much is that thing?

That one is $200 for a RF45 from MTW, another alternative would be one from grizzly such as this one for a round column mill for $255.

BTW, I don't think that you have posted any images of your atlas mill.

Yea, you're right. I haven't posted any images of the mill yet. I keep meaning to do a writeup of the restoration, but I just haven't had the time. It was fun and worth doing it. I certainly have a better understanding of how the mill works. That's what happens when you completely disassemble a machine and put it back together. I didn't even have any extra pieces left over!

Anyway, eventually I'll post the writeup. The pictures are sitting on my other computer just waiting to be posted …

You are not the only one who has not gotten around to posting projects, several weeks ago I had promised that I would post plans for my live chuck that coming week end.

Tyler, I am sure you must have reassembled your mill incorrectly if you don't have any parts left over.Wink  Waiting for the mill pics.

Hi, Tyler.  I know that you have accessed eBay, but just in case, have you checked out http://stores.ebay.com/Reliabl…..#038;_sc=1  ?  Every now and then such cabinet would be available.

Also I see that Grizzly sells replacement parts for the lathes; I don't see why they wouldn't for their mills.  For an example, glom on this: http://www.grizzly.com/product…..01/parts/1

Good luck and have a great day.
